QUESTION:
Why do we think that money and spending quality time with our children are mutually exclusive?
Allow me to explain…
Just the other day I was taking a client for my Coaching Program and somebody said,
“Yeah, making money is great and all. But I don’t want it to come at the expense of time with my family.”

It’s often referred to as “scarcity”, and it’s one of the main reasons women:

Work in jobs that have demanding hours; causing them to miss special moments with their kids, or even miss dinner with their families

Are unable to take their children on special vacations and experiences that give them confidence and knowledge about the world around them

Forego presence with their children because they’re always “plugged in” to promoting themselves and their businesses via email or social media

AND THE WORST: women in demanding, low-paying jobs avoid the self-care they need to recharge and be even better, more energetic mamas
Jen Sincero says in “You Are A Badass At Making Money” that,
“…we refuse to give ourselves permission to become rich. I see it over and over. The kicking and screaming about how, at the end of the day, what’s most important is spending time with those you love; gazing at sunsets, rejoicing in the laughter of frolicking children, helping old ladies cross the street, and other things money can’t buy. And I won’t argue. But I will ask this: Why the hell does this come up when we discuss the making of money? When did it become an either/or situation? If you partake in the pursuit of wealth, it’s not like you shall never again attend a family barbecue, hug a puppy, or tiptoe through the tulips. In fact, if you do it correctly, you’ll be able to afford to spend even more time in such merriments. And do it in style.”
